E&C is a global energy procurement consultancy. They support large buyers of energy with consultancy for negotiating energy contracts, energy risk management and controlling of the energy budget. With ePoint, E&C has developed a state-of-the-art platform for data management to support energy procurement. E&C has 300+ clients, among them some of the largest companies on the planet. They are served by 75 employees in offices in Kortrijk (BE - head office), Wroclaw (PL - back-office), Heerlen (NL), Madrid (ES), New York (USA) and Melbourne (AUS).

E&C was founded in 2005 in Belgium by Benedict De Meulemeester and Luc De Leersnyder who had captured the need for a high quality consultancy helping industrial companies buying large quantities of energy.

They came across Patrick Debusseré, an established entrepreneur. He believed in the business idea and supported the start-up with his resources and knowhow. While Luc was conquering the region with his sales pitch from the Belgian headquarter, Benedict took on the operational side of the business. Kobe Cannaerts, the first consultant to join the team after Benedict, joined as a fourth shareholder. In 2014, Kobe moved overseas to start up E&C’s US activities from the Belcham offices in New York. This trans-Atlantic expansion was a key step in E&C’s development towards global consultancy. This was also earmarked during E&C’s successful Trans Atlantic Energy conferences that brought together global energy buyers on both sides of the Atlantic.

With record growth in 2018, it became clear that E&C is ready for a new chapter. Benedict De Meulemeester, will be teaming up with Jens Lievens, currently international business developer. This duo knowing all the ins and outs of E&C, is ready to realize their ambitious scale-up plans. As the energy transition pushes more and more companies towards realizing ambitious renewable energy targets, E&C sees a growing need for its services.

Only one of the previous shareholders, Luc De Leersnyder, will remain active in the company as a commercial point of contact.
